Sachiko Nakajima

Sachiko Nakajima was born on 13, June, 1979. At the age of 4 she began to learn how to play the piano and to create music (to compose) from Yamaha Music School, and with her own way. When she was 10, she also began to learn how to play the organ. In 1983-1987 she temporarily paused all musical activities(and really absorbed in the world of math!). In 1998 she enterd the University of Tokyo and majored in mathematics. At that time, she encountered blues, jazz, rock, funk, soul, punk, traditional world music, and other various fantstic&crazy music. That great encounter made her rediscover the attraction of music, and take up the piano again. Soon, she had the opportunity to meet many young fascinating musicians. When she was senior, she began to play her own band at some jazz clubs. In those days she met Takehiro Honda(Japanese great jazz&blues pianist) and deeply impressed by his music&life.
After graduation,she plays her music at many clubs. Her music freely crosses any musical forms&genres, with full joy!, spirits, and sometimes with sadness and pain. She has been playing the keyborad at the "Shibusa-Shirazu" band since 2003. She also leads her own trio(with her originals) and some experimental sessions around Tokyo now.

FrankZappa!, JimiHendrix, Fancadelic, FelaKuti, BobMarley, Beatles, PinkFloyd, KingCrimson, TheloniousMonk, MilesDavis, AlbertAyler, SonyRollins, Roland Kirk, HermetoPascoal, SunRa, ProfessorLonghair, RubenGonzalez, Santana, DannyHathaway, ElisRegina, various kind of what is called world music(music of life, or of riligion), esp.of Africa,Japan,India,..........and manymany other GREAT music&musicians.
